When we decided to do IVF to support our pregnancy goals, they were even able to coordinate with our doctors to provide acupuncture treatments as part of the IVF procedures. For over 6 years now, I’ve been telling my female friends who were dealing with fertility, hormonal, and other health issues that the only doctor they should see is Dr. Catherine Aquino. That’s how amazing she is. I couldn’t get pregnant due to a hormonal imbalance (PCOS — polycystic ovary syndrome), and had seen pretty much every acupuncturist in Los Angeles, including Dr. Aquino’s mentors, Dr. Mao and Dr. Dao, but nothing worked. I started a western protocol with a fertility specialist but my body couldn’t handle it and as a result, I was completely poisoned. Chronically sick for over two years. So now I had two major issues to deal with. When a friend told me of her success with Dr. Aquino, at first I was reluctant to go, thinking this would be just another road that lead nowhere. But was I wrong! Dr. Aquino helped me detox my body of the toxins from the fertility treatments and get my menstrual cycle in an actual cycle for the first time in my life. And yes — I got pregnant. Our 5- year old girl is beautiful proof of Dr. Aquino’s abilities. Both Catherine Aquino and Dr. Li (who teaches at UCLA and wrote the book on Acupuncture that UCLA uses today…and, taught Dr. Aquino) are the BEST. Their support staff excels. You couldn’t feel more welcomed in a warm, professional manner. The experience will keep you coming back for more. I know I have weekly for ten years.
This place is amazing! I’ve been coming for my occasional migraines, neck strain and sciatica issues for years. I will always put my trust in the hands of Catherine before any pills and or unnecessary surgeries. Don’t get me wrong I still have my yearly physical and the doctors office is usually my first stop but after a few visits years ago for gerd and nausea and the results it provided, I went from a skeptic to a regular. Set those doubts aside and give it a try.
Catherine is very thorough, cares very much about her patients, and is just all around wonderful. She listens intently, remembers the details of your ailments, and makes you feel like you’re in safe, protected hands. I recently started seeing her for fertility issues, and am confident I am on the right path with her. She goes above and beyond and is a real gem as an acupuncturist, and as a human being. I consider myself lucky I found her!
I have gone to Dr Aquino on and off for ten years. She is so knowledgable and understanding. She has helped me with a few issues. Her office manager is polite and efficient. Not a problem getting appointments. I would definitely recommend her to all.
At the suggestion of a friend,I saw Dr. Catherine Aquino here. So let’s start by saying Ive had bad cramps and terrible PMS for 10 plus years and everyone says, “Yeah they get worse as you get older a lot of the time” Well they don’t have to. I had never had acupuncture or Chinese medicine type nutritional counseling before. But I was fed up with feeling like sh!% for 10 to 12 days out of every month. The same 10-12 days. I saw her on a Friday. My period started on Saturday with only about 10% of the pain I usually have. A dull ache vs having to take several pills for pain every 4 hours. My digestion has also improved. Karen scheduled me and is fantastic as well. They are both peaceful and genuine. Ive gone twice and I will go again. I look forward to more healing here.
Catherine Aquino is so awesome and amazing! I’d experienced two miscarriages prior to working with her. I was referred to her by a very good friend that told me how amazing she was. I’d lost all hope of getting pregnant and my spirit was so broken. On my first appointment, my husband and I went together. She was so kind and took the time with us that so many other acupuncturists/doctors hadn’t done. I knew I had a long journey ahead. I worked with her for a year. She helped me get stronger first mentally and then physically. She was truly my life coach. Almost exactly a year after our first visit, I got pregnant with my now 2-year-old daughter. I couldn’t have done it without her! I’m grateful for Catherine everyday!
I met Catherine when I was going through fertility. She came highly recommended from another acupuncturist/fertility specialist whose office was too far from my home. To me, *connection* is very important with this type of treatment, meaning a patient’s compatibility with the energy and temperament of the doctor. Catherine and I connected. Over the last (almost) 10 years, Catherine has successfully assisted with my fertility treatments and resulting twin pregnancy, nursed me back to health after post partum pre-eclampsia, and treated both emotional and physical aches and pains through my journey with breast cancer. Now, I can’t imagine going through any major health hurdle without her. What I recommend even more, is acupuncture for the sake of balance – when you’re healthy, to stay healthy in mind, body and spirit. If I could afford to do it every week, I would.
